I haven't had much time recently but have had odd chances to
work on the Lancia and do feel I'm making progress.
Adapted tool to remove the hubs - the welded in socket made it much easier |
I got both hubs off and that meant the next job was to put
the new discs on the hubs - they are quite an unusual design with the hub which
includes the bearings bolted to the disc, integrating a drum for the handbrake:
Hub and disc separated |
I got one disc off the hub and then bolted the new one on:
Refurbished calipers
The calipers came back from being refurbished, nice and shiny!
Refitted!
So I have now managed to fit all the new components on one
side, first the the new handbrake shoes with all new springs and fitting.
Whilst it was in pieces I have repainted the disc shields:
Handbrake shoes fitted |
All reassembled. |
And I have checked that the handbrake works too. It needs
bleeding, the hub need need to be peened into the slot on the shaft but I've
got to replace the flexible hose from the body to the axle before I do the next
steps, and the other side needs doing too!
