A small amount of progress since the last update.
Firstly, I made a decision about tyres and have gone for the
Pirelli Cinturato as I decided it would be the most suitable for originality on
the car. I like the look of them so decided to spend the extra on the Pirelli
rather than any of the other options.
The trouble then was that I looked at the wheels and decided they would benefit from a freshen up to go with the new tyres. That lead to getting them sand blasted and powder coated - they look great now!
I had the tyres fitted by my local garage and they said they thought they should have tubes as there is no retaining bead on the wheel rim. I asked on the Lancia Motor Club forum about this and whilst people do run them tubeless they definitely were made initially for tubed tyres so I decided to err on the side of safety and fit them. Unfortunately that delayed things as I had to get tubes and then get them fitted.
Finally, however, they were done and I got them on the car and then had a dry day so got it out of the garage and turned round so I can access the front end of the car to recondition the brakes and replace all the coolant hoses - along with other jobs that no doubt will need doing!
